Health & Safety Co-op Student - January 2025

This is an 8-month work term from January 2025 to August 2025.

Qualifications:
- Currently completing a degree or certificate program in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Mental Health, Ergonomics or Occupational Therapy, Industrial Engineering or related fields
- Experience or strong interest in health and safety management and/or industrial hygiene and environmental
- Completion of first year of the degree or certificate program of study
- Self-starter, attention to detail, punctual, consistent, and flexible to changing tasks
- Goal oriented, demonstrate initiative, and enjoy working in a team environment; Demonstrated problem solving skills and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Possess a valid Canadian driver’s license
Key Responsibilities:
- Project based work such as: functional job description review and revision, farm safety program development, database management, and other special projects
- Review and provide input on training and standards for companywide safety systems
- Participation in joint occupational health and safety committees
- Complete departmental Risk Assessment and Job Safety Analysis writing and training
- Work with department managers/leads on health and safety related matters
- Ability to interact well with people; responsive and sensitive to customer needs
- Other duties as assigned
