RETURN-TO-WORK (RTW) SPECIALIST

The Opportunity
We are looking for Return-to-Work (RTW) Specialist to be based out of our head office in Dieppe, NB. In this role the incumbent will be the primary company liaison for employees on medical leave and provides a centralized, strategic focus to reduce lost time incidents and pays paid for employees on leave.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma with a specialty focus in one of the following:
- Disability Management
- Health Sciences (nursing, physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy)
- Social Work/Sociology
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in return to work, disability management, vocational rehabilitation or related experience
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational, communication and time management skills
- Ability to multitask while remaining flexible and managing shifting priorities
- Professional demeanor and confidentiality are a must
- Excellent computer skills and proficient knowledge of MS Office
- Bilingualism is required (French & English)
Key Responsibilities:
- Enables an efficient liaison between employees on leave and Irving Health Services Disability Managers. Completes employer documentation such as employer statements (STD, WCB), payroll information, functional job descriptions, etc. to reduce processing delays of claims
- Enables a safe and early return to work process including ensuring accommodations, completing return to work plans and progress reports, updating provincial and state WCB boards, and maintaining status reports
- Reviews departments and terminals return to work programs and works collaboratively to improve results such as reduction in lost time incidents and days paid
- Works with Canadian and American worker's compensation boards, including providing documentation, return to work progress reports, and payroll requests
- Develops, maintains and modifies any leave practices for occupational and non-occupational illness and injury (e.g. sick, WCB, STD, LTD, FMLA, etc.)
- Supports the ergonomic assessment processes such as requesting assessments, procuring equipment, and reducing ergonomic related injuries
