Located at 3099 Barrington Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3K 5M7, and 35 Micmac Boulevard, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, B3A 4Y8, Irving Shipbuilding is proud to be Canada’s National Shipbuilder. Over the next 30 years, our shipbuilders will construct 20+ modern patrol ships and surface combatants for the Royal Canadian Navy as part of the largest defence procurement project in Canadian history.

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Industrial Engineering Technologist, Tooling & Equipment.

 

Responsible for mining data to identify opportunities for improvements, completing analysis, and working to resolutions. The Inventory and Logistics Analyst will be a self-starter, who thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and detail.

 

 

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. Qualifications:

·       Education: Industrial Engineering Technologist diploma

o   Professional Industrial Engineering Technologist or relevant professional body is desirable.

o   Project Management Institute as a PMP is desirable.

·       Experience: Minimum 2-5 years industry experience

·       Planning or project management experience

·       Demonstrated experience in a project management role and the management of change.

·       Ability to work independently and or with multi-disciplined teams of people.

·       Ability to use computer-based project management and design software as business tools as part of daily business activities.

·       Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross functional departments.

·       Proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

 

 

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Lead projects to improve product offerings and services to achieve an increase to the efficiency of tools, equipment, and techniques driven profitable and productivity.

o   Ensure regulatory compliance for all activities. 

o   Ensure all projects completed safely.

o   Ensure all projects meet or exceed quality requirements.

·       Designing workflows for maximum efficiency, as well as analyzing statistics and costs.

·       Ensure timeliness of project completion

·       Perform analysis of inventory, business trends, operational processes, and business data to identify opportunities and recommend changes to improve cost & efficiencies which will support long term strategy.

·       Power user for Inventory Management system, maintaining data pertaining to tooling and consumable inventories.

·              Perform custom reporting and analytics for Department.

·       Partner with key vendors as well as internal teams and external entities to benchmark best practices and to gain support and insight for projects and solutions.
