STUDENT SURVEYOR

The Construction and Equipment Division, a part of the J.D. Irving, Limited’s group of companies, is a key player in the North American construction industry. Our core businesses are Irving Equipment, Gulf Operators, CFM, Irving Wallboard, and Kent Homes and the group provides heavy equipment and crane services, civil construction, modular home and commercial buildings, and machining, technical services, repair and overhaul to its customers.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Student Surveyor to join CFM in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Responsibilities:

• Work with crew chief to support various survey tasks that may include, laser scanning, civil surveying, mechanical surveying, drone services, and underground utility locates.
• Perform construction surveys using GNSS, electronic total stations, and conventional survey equipment.
• Office calculations may be required at times.
• Communicate effectively and follow standard in quality and safety.

Education and Skills:

• Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Civil or Geomatics Technology Program or Survey Engineering Program or related field.
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Proficient in using AutoCAD and good knowledge of survey software
• Excellent people and communication skills
• Must be able to work flexible shifts as required

All of our student roles will require full time enrollment in a related post-secondary program in good academic standing, excellent communication, analytic and organizational skills, and a great attitude with an eagerness to learn.
