Seasonal Sprayer Operator

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

 Cavendish Farms is looking for Seasonal Sprayer Operators for a period of approximately 6 months, beginning mid-May. The exact start and end date and period of work will be dependent on weather and business needs. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively operate a self-propelled sprayer which includes GPS technology & computerized application monitors
• Perform vehicle inspections; clean and perform mandatory maintenance to equipment including basic troubleshooting
• Prepare agricultural pesticide solutions according to the product label
• Check equipment for proper application and make corrections as needed
• Drive to and from field locations on public roads
• Ensure the accurate completion of associated documentation
• Represent the company in a professional, positive and pleasant manner
• Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

• Perform all tasks with safety being the number one priority
• Previous experience operating farm equipment or heavy equipment
• Valid driver’s license (Class 3 would be considered an asset)
• Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends
• Ability to work independently
• High degree of attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task
• Mechanical aptitude and previous experience working in agricultural operations would be considered an asset
• Valid Pesticide Applicators Permit, or be willing to acquire
