Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position plays a key role in the delivery, support and execution of Human Resources activities in support of Cavendish Appetizers including recruiting, compensation, employee relations and communication strategies. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast paced ever changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, accuracy and detail. This highly motivated person will be results orientated and must be also committed to providing dedicated support to all activity throughout the organization.

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with an emphasis on HR or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the field of Human Resources or payroll strongly preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within cross-functional teams;
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks;
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to relate to all employees in a positive, constructive and respectful manner

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for hourly payroll submissions and related functions
  • Recruitment, including job posting, screening, interviewing candidates and job fairs
  • Onboarding new hires to ensure a smooth employee experience
  • Maintain employee data in HRIS system and EZ Labour
  • Assist in scheduling hourly employees for work on a daily basis
  • Responsible for general receptionist and office management duties
  • Assist with accounting functions such as preparation of the daily cost reports
  • Employee relations including benefit  and short term disability
  • Employee communication and correspondence
  • Assists in implementation and delivery of HR programs and policies including, but not limited to, employee complaints/concerns, performance incentives, health and safety, disability management, retention, training and development
  • Support other initiatives as required
